ClickUp is looking for a hands-on payroll manager to build and scale our payroll function. Reporting to the Head of Global Payroll, this newly created role will be a key member of our global payroll function. We are looking for someone that is interested in partnering across the organization to build the entire global HR/Payroll infrastructure and team to accommodate the incredible scale that the Company is projecting. 


  • Manage daily responsibilities and mentor employees
  • Be the main contributor to designing and building an enterprise HRIS
  • Own international (non-US) payroll processing on a bi-weekly and monthly basis
  • Own the design and implementation of an enterprise grade US payroll system and global payroll consolidator system
  • Manage the semi-monthly global payroll for over 700 employees 
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately
  • Identify, research and resolve day to day payroll issues
  • Manage new State payroll tax registrations and collaborate with tax team on payroll tax issues
  • Knowledge of tax reciprocity rules and regulations
  • Understand proper taxation of employee and employer benefits and deductions
  • Design, build and maintain key payroll controls
  • Ensure stock activity for global employees is properly processed and reported
  • Review and audit all quarterly/annual filings
  • Responsible for reviewing and auditing annual tax filings; including W2 forms
  • Assist with audits as needed (401K, Workers Comp, External Audits)
  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
  • Review and optimize current processes and procedures
  • Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures
  • Maintain strong and productive relationships with HR team, Operations, Finance, Stock Admin, Legal and other internal stakeholders


  • 7+ years of experience
  • 3-5 years management experience
  • Global payroll experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or relevant experience
  • Process improvement mentality and highly motivated
  • Experience using Workday Payroll and HRIS
  • Strong systems knowledge, including the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Ability to work under pressure, strong communication and analytical skills
  • Skilled in MS Excel, MS Word and Google docs
  • Certified Payroll Professional (a plus)
